Twins Turn Two!

Two-year old birthdays are so much more fun than the one-year old birthday. Anna and Owen turned two last week and we had a great time watching their faces light up at every single gift.
Make sure you click to see their faces over the new bikes from Grandma Pat and Grandpa Frank. (Death to anyone who tries to get on these bikes, especially an older brother and sister.)

Of course, apples from Grandma, and a new drill for Owen.

He's thinking about it......

...yeah, he's a probably the best T-ball player that I know.
Pony Express Days was on Saturday and Weston and I ran in the 1 mile and 3 mile races. Here is Weston and his cousin Adri neck and neck. I love the smiles even though they are dead tired. Every year he wants to do this and we train together once, for about half of a mile, and then he says he feels ready. He ran it in 9:29, so he did pretty darn good.

Here is the prize he caught, and she lays some mighty small eggs.

Goings On

Just checking blogs late tonight because Tyler has gone to camp with the Priests and thought, "I wish I had something to post about." Lo, and behold, I checked the camera and I did have a few new goings on.

Paige (here with her cousins Kennadee and Grayson) graduated from preschool, she won't be headed to Kindergarten next year because she is too young, we may be playing school every day, or looking for other options to keep her busy.

We went to Weston's program and he did a great job of singing all the songs, and remembering his parts. It was fun to watch him graduate from Kindergarten.

When I typed that it reminded me of "The Incredibles" when Mr. Incredible is upset about going to Dash's graduation he says, (as close as I can remember) "It's not a graduation, he's moving from the 4th to the 5th grade, it's psychotic. They keep coming up with new ways to celebrate mediocrity."

I don't feel that way about seeing my kids move from one grade to another, I actually love seeing their programs, I just thought it sounded funny when I typed "graduated from Kindergarten", I don't remember ever graduating from anything until I was 18, that is all. Oh, and I watch a lot of kid movies that become a strange part of my everyday language. I definitely should read the scriptures more to try and make them a part of my recollection.

Anyway, after much rambling, we have been doing a lot of chores since school got out and I can't believe how the days are flying by when we stay busy. Even despite all the rain, here is some good help washing the truck.

And, I got a new kitchen table! Our first major furniture purchase ever and I love it. Only the day we got it home and put up, we called Tyler's brother over to help us lift it and turn it over. We should have waited and called more help because his brother dropped his end and the sound of wood cracking is something I will never forget. The wood underneath where the leg was screwed into, and another piece cracked. I was so devastated, all those hours of correcting and piano lessons... but I left the room and didn't cry. We got it fixed, glued and clamped for two days, and hopefully it is as good as new. I now just feel bad for his brother who lost sleep that night. It has eight chairs and two leafs that store inside it, so it extends to 122'', which doesn't even fit in our dining room. I told Tyler if we ever build a house I am designing it around our table so we have enough room to fit it.

I almost forgot to include the best reason for getting new furniture!

Atticus

He has a name, Brandon finally won the name battle. Atticus Frank Buck, yes, after the famous Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird".

New Arrival....Baby ????

Announcing the arrival of our new cousin ??????????. We are so glad he is here finally, safe, but without a name currently. My other sister TIffany and I along, with her baby, and the twins drove 2 1/2 hours to see him today, then ran around the hospital (luckily it is so small there are no visiting restrictions) had a hamburger and headed home, another 2 1/2 hours. It all went smooth and we had a lot of napping--but it was well worth the drive. He was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and both he and Mom are doing well, way to go Meg!

Piano Recital

Tonight we had our Spring Piano Recital, all of my students were able to participate and they did so great. We haven't had a recital for a while, but they are so worth it because it gets the kids used to performing and makes me feel like they have improved. I made them all bow or curtsy after they performed and that was the hardest, but most endearing part. My niece Hali (on the front row in the red and black) did especially awesome-Good Job, Hali!

Muddy Mess

Fun when you are in the moment, but walking home from the creek, two blocks, when the sun is down--not so fun. The only reason she is smiling is because our neigbor gave her a bag full of treats because she was crying as we walked past her house.

A month in review...

I've been a bad blogger lately, so I plugged in my camera to see what I have missed. Here is our month in a few words, and a lot a pictures.

Paige had a Cowboy/Cowgirl fashion show at preschool this month, she did some fancy turns, which ended in falls. She still looked very cute, but we might be signing up for dancing this Fall.

Lots of soccer games, Weston is finally catching on to a few things (like scoring goals is fun) and told us he is the fastest on his team. He is fun to watch, just ask the twins, they get fed a lot of food by all the parents on the team.

And..... this cute girl......

did this to her sheets,

this to her crib,

and ruined her clothes,
but we still love Bag Balm. Without it we would surely have crusty cheeks, red and overwiped noses, and sore bums.

P.S. My updates will be scarce for a while because I am doing some grading online for the month of May, which means before my kids wake up, during naps, and after they're in bed. I don't feel a clean house coming on. (or a nap...sad)
